The UFC will kickoff 2021 fight year with a solid fight card from Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. the January 16th card will be headlined by an intriguing Featherweight 5 round fight between the streaking Calvin Kattar and the former divisional king Max Holloway.
“Blessed” has been on the wrong end of two close decisions to current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Although on a 2 fight losing streak Holloway is still one of the UFC featherweight elites.
Calin Katter is on a 2 fight winning streak besting Jeremey Stephans and Dan Ige. Solid wins, but is it enough to defeat Max Holloway?
The Bookmakers don’t think so, most have Holloway as up to -195 favorite. Even though a relatively small margin, this is a tough but winnable fight for Max Holloway.
In recent interviews Holloway proclaimed he does no longer spar during fight camp. probably inspired by the amount of damage taken in his failed bid to win the UFC Interim Lightweight title against Dustin Proirier.
