Betting favorite Aspinall Impress, finishes Andrei Arlovski

Andrei Arlovski Has settled into a UFC gatekeeper role, in his last couple of MMA fights Arlovski had turned away promising prospects. On the opposite side of the cage, UK MMA talent Tom Aspinall was looking to add an established former UFC champion to his resume.

A -280 betting favorite by most Online Bookmakers. Aspinall started fast, trading heavy punches with the savvy veteran. Midway through the first round Aspinall right hand cracked Arlovski. Backed up towards the fence he was met with a ferocious 20 punch combo from the UK based fighter.

Arlovski showed veteran composure and incredible toughness surviving the onslaught and the round. Aspinall changed things up at the start of the second round (the 1st of his MMA career) with a surprise double leg takedown that brought the fight to the ground.

Arlovski tried to quickly regained his footing but left his neck open. Aspinall jumped on the opportunity and locked in the no hooks rear naked choke for the win. A visibly frustrated Arlovski congratulated his young for shortly after.

Aspinall was indeed the betting favorite to win this fight. But based on his recent performances the betting odds predicted a ko/tko finish. The odds for the UK fighter to submit his Belarusian foe? +1600 by some Online Sportsbooks Odds. Arlovski tapped for just the 2nd time in his long MMA career. The only man other than Tom Aspinall to submit Arlovski is former UFC heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett.

Underdog Lewis Uppercut KO Favorite Curtis Blaydes

Two massive heavyweights colided in UFC Vegas 19 main event. -355 betting favorite Curtis Blaydes looked to continue his rise up the UFC heavyweight rankings opposite of +285 underdog Derrick Lewis.

Blaydes, never an underdog and always a betting favorite so far in his career attacked with low kicks and the occasional jap. Lewis on his part countered his foes first takedown attempt with a big bomb. But overall that wasn’t enough to win the round.

The fight continued at much the same pace until Blayeds shot for an ill advised takedown. Derrick Lewis anticipated the level change, countering with a massive uppercut. Blaydes was still immediately, crushing to the octagon canvas. Laying prone he ate two more HUGE hammerfists from the black beast.
