Favorite Max Holloway Runs Through Calvin Kattar In A Masterclass

UFC Fight Night Results & Analysis

Heading into UFC Fight Night On ABC 1 in Fight Island Max Holloway was a modest -205 favorite over Calvin Kattar +165. While Katter was riding the momentum of a 2 fight winning streak “blessed” was fresh off back-to-back decision loses to current UFC Featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski.

In hindsight, the odds were even close and those betting their money on the former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway ere in for a treat.
The Hawaiian started strong and just kept pressing on the gas pedal  with a staggering volume of jabs, hooks to the body and head while mixing in nasty elbow who cut Kattar for good measure.

Holloway took the first two rounds 10-9 and in customary Max Holloway fashion turned up the heat and winning the last three rounds decisively. The American fought back valiantly hitting back with solid counter punches.

It was futile, we did learn he has a lions heart and an almost unbreakable chin. Holloway kept his varied, fluid attack and almost finished the fight in rounds three and four.
At least two if not all of the three rounds were 10-8 rounds, Holloway super styled on Calvin Katter, showing off to the small crowd gathered in Etihad Arena on Yas Island. At one point even addressing the UFC commentary team mid-fight, while evading punches, there were vocies post-fight the towel should’ve been thrown in by Kattars team but as we know throwing in the towel is a rare sight in mixed martial arts. The final result? tied for the most lopsided decision victory in
UFC Histoy.

What a great showing by Max Holloway and What a great start to the 2021 MMA Fight Betting season.

Betting Underdogs Dazzle Bettors with KO Wins

The Rest of the card was solid, with two memorable underdog performances that reminds us just how exciting and unexpected MMA and MMA Betting can be.
Santiago Ponzinibbio was on a 7 fight winning streak (and a 2 year layoff due to injuries) heading into his clash with Li Jinglang and was widely considered the favorite on the bookmakers. As it turns out, these expectations went down the drain. following a fairly uneventful few minutes a massive left hook floored “The Ponz” violently after he missed big with a punch of his own. Li Jinglang has stolen his thunder and made a few bettors night a happier one with an absolutely gorgeous counter punch. Who will bet against him in his next fight?
